Programme

The everyday practice of meditation is just everyday life itself.  Since the undeveloped state does not exist, there is no need to behave in any special way or attempt to attain anything above and beyond what you actually are.  There should be no feeling of striving to attain some amazing goal or advanced state. The everyday moment of now provides everything you need to know yourself!

A great opportunity to do a weekend retreat with the pandit and translator Keith Dowman in July. You may be aware that he has a new book called Natural Perfection, which is now in stock and available to order from wisdom books. This is a translation and commentary of the great Dzochen master Longchenpa's Treasury of Natural Perfection and the retreat will be an opportunity to share the sublime practices and wisdom of this wonderful text.

below is the foreword by Namkhai Norbu :

"Now that Dzogchen is spreading in the West, we need a popular translation of this extraordinary text…the benefit will be seen as direct experience of the nature of mind. Keith Dowman, the translator who has spent many years with many great masters and has absorbed the realization of Dzogchen, has overcome the difficulties of translation and produced a straight-forward English rendition. I hope that this text may bring realization of the nature of things, just as they are, to all living beings." Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche.

Healing chod

Look into the mirror of your mind, Mahamudra,
The mysterious home of the Dakini.

Of all the Sublime sublime practices of Tibet, one of the most enchanting, haunting and mysteriously beautiful is the practice of Chod. With roots in ancient Central Asian shamanism, chod (cutting through delusions root) has been nurtured by wandering yogis and yoginis for over 1,000 years. Chod merges the elemental power of nature with the profound wisdom of tantric Buddhism.

In May and June of this year there will be the rare opportunity to take part in this practice. The monks of Zangdokpalri, a Buddhist monastery in a remote part of the Himalayas, will be visiting and performing this ceremony. The healing chod that they will be practising, is from the mind treasure of Kunzang Dechen Lingpa a Wise elder and great visionary.

Kunzang was due to visit the UK this summer, but sadly died at home in the Himalayas. The monks and nuns of Zangdokpalri will be performing healing rituals of the healing chod, led by Bino Tulku.

Rinpoche's vision is offering Healing Chod events in the West in order to raise money for a monastery and traditional medicine building project to benefit one of the poorest parts of India, Arunachal Pradesh, where no spiritual, educational, or artistic services currently exist.

Healing Chöd uses the profound power of sacred ritual, sacred sound and mantra, combined with the meditative power of Lamas and nuns trained since early childhood to perform these practices.

The thousand-year history of Chöd inherently carries extremely potent blessings, as it is connected to numerous lineages of enlightened beings, mahasiddhis, realized yogins and Archetypal Spiritual Beings, Chöd particularly calls upon the enlightened Feminine Wisdom Energy. During this time ones body is transformed, absorbed into enlightened wisdom-mind, and resurrected in a state of health.

Kunzang Dechen Lingpa's unique Healing Chöd Dharma-Treasure has benefited or healed thousands of people.

The healing chod is a wonderful opportunity to deeply relax ones body, speech and mind in the vast expanse of ones true nature. When identification with the finite mind-body complex is let go of, then the pure awareness is set free to perceive reality as it really is. The whole world becomes potent as a place of blessing power and awareness.

The healing chod tour will be dedicated to the memory of Kunzang Dechen Lingpa, who was one of the most humble, compassionate and wise people one could ever hope to meet.
